About SaveNova

Last reviewed: November 1, 2026

SaveNova is a web utility for checking and saving publicly accessible social media links. Paste a public post or video link and SaveNova validates it, removes share-tracking parameters, identifies the platform and content type, and prepares the publicly available media for download — directly in your browser, with no account, login, or software to install.

What the downloader does

  1. You paste one link to a public post, video, Pin, or image. The address is checked against the platform's known public URL shapes, and tracking parameters such as igsh, si, or utm_* are stripped so only the canonical permalink is used.
  2. The server asks the platform for that post and resolves the media files an anonymous visitor is already served. Each file is described with the container and resolution that were actually observed; nothing is upscaled or relabelled.
  3. You choose an option and the file is transferred to your browser, which performs the final save. The page can show the transfer it measures; it cannot see your Downloads folder or confirm that the operating system finished writing the file.

Supported platforms

SaveNova uses a dedicated module for each of the five platforms it supports, because each network structures its public links differently. You can use the universal input on the homepage or a platform-specific tool:

  • Instagram Downloader — Retrieve and download public Instagram Reels, videos, posts, and carousels.
  • TikTok Downloader — Retrieve and download public TikTok videos, photo posts, and shortlinks.
  • Pinterest Downloader — Retrieve and download public Pinterest image Pins, video Pins, and Idea Pins.
  • YouTube Downloader — Download public YouTube videos and Shorts, plus official thumbnails and metadata.
  • Facebook Downloader — Download publicly accessible Facebook videos, Reels, and video posts.

Each platform page documents its accepted link shapes, current limitations, Android and iPhone steps, and the errors that are specific to that network.

What SaveNova does not do

The boundaries are part of the product, not an afterthought. This service does not offer:

  • Private accounts, followers-only posts, groups, Stories, or age-gated media.
  • DRM removal, paywall or membership circumvention, or CAPTCHA solving.
  • Watermark removal by cropping, blurring, or editing pixels.
  • Bulk profile scraping, channel or board downloads, or a “save everything” button.
  • An account, a download history, or a stored library of the links you submit.

Because access is anonymous and platforms change how public media is served, not every public link will succeed on every attempt. When that happens, the tool reports the failure honestly rather than imitating a result.

How the guides are written

The SaveNova guides are written to answer the questions that support mail actually brings in: where a copy-link option lives, why a Reel failed, and what a watermark label really means. Each article is re-read against the behaviour of the current build before publication and carries a visible review date.

The guides document limitations alongside features. They do not quote invented success rates, describe tests that were not run, or claim platform support that the modules do not implement. Corrections are welcome; a guide that no longer matches what you see is a bug in the documentation.

Ten guides cover Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Facebook, file handling, troubleshooting, and responsible use.

How the service is funded

The downloader is free to use and requires no subscription. Hosting is funded by advertising, and the advertising providers, consent signals, and cookie behaviour are described in detail in the Privacy Policy. Advertising tags are gated behind consent choices; they are not loaded inside the downloader widget, and they never sit between you and the download button.

Privacy and data handling

There is no account and no download history. A submitted link is processed to serve the request; standard request metadata is used for security and rate limiting. The complete description, including how analytics and advertising behave and how to withdraw consent, is in the Privacy Policy. Use of the service is covered by the Terms of Service and the copyright and DMCA page.

Independence and contact

SaveNova is an independent utility and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., TikTok, ByteDance Ltd., Pinterest, Inc., YouTube, or Google LLC. For support, privacy, or copyright questions, see our Contact page or email [email protected].

In short: public links only, no logins, no extensions, and clear errors when content cannot be reached publicly.
